The label’s first record is out — Camilla Vasquez’s Patron Saint of the Damned. Deep house tempos, Latin instrumentation, no compromise on either.

Cala Azul Studios puts flamenco guitarists, conga players and salsa pianists in front of a microphone and arranges the house record around them. No sample packs. One room, one take, four to the floor.

“Flamenco palmas over a four-four pulse — the sound the studio was built around.”
Camilla Vasquez grew up between the tablaos of Cádiz and the after-hours basements of Madrid, and her records have never really chosen between the two. Handclaps and nylon-string guitar sit where a hi-hat usually would; the bassline underneath is pure deep house patience.
She co-founded Cala Azul Studios in 2026 as a room where Spanish and Latin players could record live takes straight into a house arrangement, rather than layering samples after the fact.

The 90m² live room takes a full percussion section with the door shut. Bands cut arrangements to tape here and leave with a finished master.
